Buya Msuthu will make their debut in the Maize Cup when they take on defending champions Kaizer Chiefs in the first semifinal of the 2018 edition, set for Saturday, July 14 at the James Motlatsi Stadium in Klerksdorp.
Msuthu, who were formed in 2016 after purchasing the status of Junior Brothers, romped to top spot in the ABC Motsepe North West League and came through the NFD playoffs to earn promotion to the second tier.
They are coached by former Orlando Pirates players Teboho Moloi and Abednigo Netshiozwi, and will look to make a major impression in both the Maize Cup this weekend and the 2018/19 NFD season.
One of their star player is undoubtedly Conrad Madolo who is one of Muthu’s few players with previous top flight experience. He will be a key figure for the North West side in the 2018 Maize Cup, as well as their debut season in the National First Division.
The 33-year-old veteran, who can play on the flanks or as an attacking midfielder, has represented the likes of Garankuwa United, Jomo Cosmos and Chippa United through his career.
He was on the books of Chippa from 2015 to 2017 (he made a total of 12 appearances across all competitions) and would love the chance to face the Chilli Boys in the final.
