Chiefs' Letlotlo suffers long-term injury

South African giants Kaizer Chiefs’ medical team has confirmed that Emmanuel Letlotlo has injured his knee ligament.

The promising striker missed the 2017 Bokone Bophirima Maize Cup which Chiefs won at the James Motlatsi Stadium in Orkney on Saturday.

According to the Chiefs medical report: “Letlotlo hurt his knee during training.”

The scan revealed that Letlotlo raptured the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).

As a result the striker will be out for six to nine months.

“He will undergo surgery, which is scheduled for Friday,” concludes the medical report.

In their maiden appearance in the Maize Cup, Chiefs defeated Free State Stars 1-0 in the final and they clinched the pre-season tournament.
