Former Free State Stars striker Edward Manqele could be set for a move back to the club after he was spotted in Bethlehem on Tuesday.
Manqele is a free agent after leaving Kaizer Chiefs at the end of the 2016/17 season. He was linked with a possible move to Turkish football, but nothing materialised in this regard for the 30-year-old.
The striker was seen at Stars’ offices, with the club possibly set to give him an opportunity to revive his career.
"Manqele is here in the club offices. The coach wants to take a close look at him before making a decision,” a source told KickOff.
Manqele scored 11 goals in 29 appearances for Ea Lla Koto in his time with the club in 2011/12, before signing for Mamelodi Sundowns (where he also had time on loan at Moroka Swallows) and then Kaizer Chiefs.
If Stars decide to give Manqele a trial period to earn a contract, he may well appear for the club in the 2017 Maize Cup this weekend.
